The Return Of The Bundesliga

Our footy expert has a set of tips for you as we approach the return of Bundesliga football this weekend…

RB Leipzig dropped points before the quarantine period and lost ground on leaders Bayern Munich who are on track for their eighth consecutive Bundesliga title.

Elsewhere, Dortmund’s promising youth will be raring to kick on from where they left off, four points adrift of the reigning champions.

Dortmund vs Schalke

Dortmund maintain hopes of breaking Bayern Munich’s seven-season reign as Bundesliga champions.

Jadon Sancho has been the key component in an attacking and creative sense to Dormund’s resurgence. The potent English winger made an impact and was the difference against Monchengladbach, assisting Achraf Hakimi for the winner five minutes after coming off the bench.

Former Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner’s Schalke left off enduring their worst form of the season. The Miners are winless in five games across all competition, shipping 10 goals.

The home win is tipped but if you are looking for more value, take the Yellow and Black on the (-1) Handicap at 27/20.

RB Leipzig vs Freiburg

Leipzig’s impressive development continues under their talented young coach.

Julian Nagelsmann’s troops have dropped eight points in six matches by drawing four times. Victories in these clashes would have seen Die Roten Bullen sit comfortably at the Bundesliga summit.

Freiburg won 3-1 last time out, snapping a three-match winless streak.

They shocked the hosts earlier this season with a 2-1 win.

Christian Streich has been at the helm for nine years now and is trying to replicate the seventh place finish his team earned two seasons ago, rather than 35 points of last season that saw them narrowly avoid relegation.

Take Leipzig and Yes in the Matchbet and Both Teams to Score market at 7/4.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Borussia Monchengladbach

Eintracht Frankfurt left off struggling to balance Europa League football and Bundesliga fixtures.

The Eagles were thumped 4-0 by Bayer Leverkusen and 3-0 by Basel in their last two matches.

Midfielder Lars Stindl was enjoying an uncharacteristically rich vein of goalscoring form for Monchengladbach, contributing five goals in four games.

The Foals were knocked out in the group stages of the Europa League and had to put their all into finishing as high as possible in the Bundesliga.

My money is on the visitors to bag all three points in this clash at 27/20

Union Berlin vs Bayern Munich

At home, Union Berlin have picked up six victories from nine league matches, including wins against Dortmund and Monchengladbach.

Bayern Munich are unbeaten in 15 matches across all competitions, winning 14 games and scoring 49 times in this streak.

Banker the Bavarians on the (-1) Handicap at 11/20.
