Daily Racing Tips: 21/03/2020

21/03/2020

All of our expert’s best bets and tips for South African race meetings at Turffontein and Durbanville on 21/03/2020.

Turffontein

Race 4: SINGLE RED ROSE
Jockey: C F Dicken – Trainer: A Fortune

SINGLE RED ROSE messed up the start of her last outing over this distance, but recovered to finish a close up second. She is a speedy sort who will benefit form having 2.5kgs taken off her allocated weight thanks to her claiming apprentice.

Race 6: AL MUTAWAKEL
Jockey: L Ferraris – Trainer: S Tarry

AL MUTAWAKEL has consistent form to his credit and did win his one and only start over this c&d. The blinkers he wore for the first time for his last outing remain on and he should be right up there when they reach the wire.

Race 7: CELTIC SEA
Jockey: G Lerena – Trainer: S Tarry

CELTIC SEA returns to Gauteng after having three runs down in CT where she won one and finished a close up second and third in the other two outings. She is a classy eight-time winner and if over her travels, she may be hard to beat here with Gavin Lerena retaining the ride.

Race 8: AL JAHBATH
Jockey: R Simons – Trainer: M De Kock

AL JAHBATH returns from a lengthy 39-week break. He is a speedy sort who has rattled off two wins from two starts. The fact that his world-class trainer has kept him in racing suggests that he believes that the gelding has more victories in him. Randall Simons, who has ridden him in both those wins, retains the ride here.

Race 9: HERSTEL
Jockey: W Kennedy – Trainer: C Dawson

HERSTEL drew off to win impressively when making her debut in a workriders event over this distance. She takes on stronger here, but the manner in which she dealt with her rivals that day suggests that she has much more to offer. Red-hot Warren Kennedy takes over the duties.

Durbanville 21/03/2020

Race 4: PIPPIELANGKOUS
Jockey: K de Melo – Trainer: P D Reeves

PIPPIELANGKOUS is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she is a speedy sort who kept going well to win her last start a little easier than the official margin may suggest. She has a handy draw and Keagan de Melo retains the ride.

Race 5: HEAVEN’S EMBRACE
Jockey: A Marcus – Trainer: B Crawford

HEAVEN’S EMBRACE returns from a 10 week break. She seldom finishes too far behind the action and was running on in her last outing over this trip prior to her rest. Starting from pole position and with Anton Marcus back in the irons, she looks to be the one to side with here.

Race 6: MIRACULOUSLY OUR
Jockey: M Winnaar – Trainer: G Kotzen

The MIRACULOUSLY OURS formline of 04 January over 2500M features prominently in this race and the 4yr old gelding might be able to repeat the victory he posted that day. His form is consistent and he gets a set of blinkers fitted for the first time today.

Race 7: AL’S MY DADDY
Jockey: C Zackey – Trainer: Adam Marcus

AL’S MY DADDY set the pace and then kicked on well to win his last start over the mile. That was only his fourth outing and although he takes on stronger here, he might be up to the task at hand starting from his handy four draw.

Race 8: MAITLAND MAGIC
Jockey: C Orffer – Trainer: B Crawford

MAITLAND MAGIC showed speed and then stayed on in his last outing over six furlongs and goes the seven furlongs for the first time. His three draw is a plus.
