Daily Racing Tips: 08/01/2020

08/01/2020

Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips for Racing at Kempton Park, Newcastle and Ludlow on 08/01/2020.

Kempton

Race 3: SOUND MIXER
Trainer: William Haggas – Jockey: Adam Kirby

SOUND MIXER earned a handicap rating when a staying on fourth over six furlongs at Kempton last month and is an interesting candidate for this sprint. There was much to like about the way he responded to pressure to get into the money, with the promise of better to come.

Race 4: QASEEDA
Trainer: William Haggas – Jockey: David Probert

This looks a very good opportunity for QASEEDA on her first venture into a handicap. The well-related filly deserves to be carrying top weight as she has the best form, latterly finishing third on her final 2019 start at Lingfield in the autumn. She’s enjoyed a short break subsequently and everyth8ng looks right for a bold showing.

Race 6: SILENT ECHO
Trainer: Peter Hedger – Jockey: Nicola Currie

The hooded SILENT ECHO is weighted to turn the tables with Harry’s Bar on form shown over this course and distance last month and can achieve it. His chance that day was compromised by early interference but for which it would have been closer. The selection was having just a third outing of the year, and of the two is open to greater improvement.

Newcastle

Race 2: MUNTADAB (Each Way)
Trainer: Roger Fell – Jockey: James Sullivan

MUNTADAB hasn’t popped up for a while but this confirmed front runner has good chances of going gate to wire in this sprint. He’s been dropped a rung on the class ladder and should be happier dropping back to six furlongs.

Race 5: ANOTHER TOUCH
Trainer: Richard Fahey – Jockey: Barry McHugh

While in the form of his life ANOTHER TOUCH can take this and complete a hat-trick. He visited the racecourse on only five occasions last year and ended it on the crest of a wave. He decisively beat Goring at Lingfield where he turn of foot proved a telling weapon.

Ludlow 08/01/2020

Race 7: MISS AUSTEN
Trainer: Hughie Morrison – Jockey: Tom O’Brien

Morrison has done well in mares’ bumpers this season and has a good chance of adding to his laurels with MISS AUSTEN. He’s always liked the selection, who was supported for her debut in a similar race at Taunton back in March before finishing a close up third to Miss Honey Ryder. She’s worked well with winning stablemates ahead of this.
